South kilkenny Historical Society
The Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday, 21st February @8p.m. followed by 'Kilkenny 685' (January 1966), A Radharc documentary which deals with the setting up of voluntary social services under the leadership of Dr. Peter Birch, former Bishop of Ossory. On Friday, March 1st @8pm - Lecture 'The Beginning of the War of Independence in Kilkenny' by Eoin Swithin Walsh.
Both events will take place in Mullinavat Parish Hall (opposite church). All welcome.
Piltown National School Fundraiser
Piltown N.S. are organising a clothing collection to fundraise for the VITA project. The collection will take place on Monday, 25th February. If you would like to support the clothing collection, you can drop your bags of old clothes, paired shoes, belts, handbags, curtains and bedlinen/duvet covers (NO duvets or pillows) into the school on or before Monday, 25th February at 10:30am.
Piltown Church Carpark
Patrons using the carpark in the Community Centre are reminded to use the marked parking spaces and especially to follow the traffic-flow arrows to ensure safety for all when entering and exiting the carpark.
Parents arranging for their children’s baptism are required to call personally to the Parish Office and will need to bring the baby’s Birth Certificate with them. This is required under Date Protection regulations.
If any parishioners have family members in hospital who would like to be visited by the Priests of the Parish, please give details to the Parish office on 051-643112.
The Wallies & Wags team involved in the upcoming Piltown G.A.A. Lip Sync are holding a ‘Cake Sale' on Saturday February 16th after 6.30pm mass in Piltown. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Huge thanks to everyone involved in baking for this event & also thanks to Suzi Q’s, A Slice of Heaven, Marty's Pantry & the Thatch Cafe Cottage who have all donated delicious cakes.
G.A.A. Lip Sync
Tickets for the G.A.A. Club LipSync fundraising event taking place on Saturday, 23rd February in the Lyrath Hotel, Kilkenny are now on sale at Centra, Piltown. Tickets cost €20 and all funds raised from this event will go towards the new Astro-turf at the G.A.A. grounds. Your support is much appreciated.
