The World Meeting of Families was established in 1994 by Pope Saint John Paul II and to date it has been hosted in Rome, Rio de Janeiro, Milan, Valencia, Mexico City and Philadelphia. Now it’s our turn here in Ireland because Pope Francis has personally chosen Dublin to be the host city for the 2018 World Meeting of Families next August.

For all those involved in Parish ministries there will be a series of four Lenten talks “Living our Baptismal Calling in 2018” in St. Kieran’s College from 7.30 to 8.30 p.m. on each Tuesday of Lent commencing 21st February.

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist:  Anyone considering volunteering for this Ministry is invited to make contact with Fr. Moore.

A meeting for all parents of children who will receive their First Communion in May will be held on Tuesday, 20th February at 7.15pm in Piltown Community Centre.  Your attendance at this meeting is essential if you are unable to attend for any reason please contact Fr. Moore at Parish Office on 051 643112.

We will have three Masses as part of our First Communion Preparation Programme these Masses will be on Sunday 11th March, Sunday 15th April and Sunday 22nd April.  We ask you to make a special effort to bring the children who are preparing for First Communion to Mass during Lent.

MOONCOIN MIDNIGHT WALK will take place on Friday 6th April 2018, Starting at 12 midnight from the Rose of Mooncoin Car Park Registration takes place on Friday 16th February at Blanchfield's Centra Mooncoin from 9am.  Please like and follow our Facebook page: Mooncoin Midnight Walk for more information and updates.
This aim of this walk is to help raise funds for a local woman Vicky Phelan (nee Kelly) to take part in a Clinical Trial abroad for Cancer Treatment.

Piltown Community Enterprise (PCE) are holding a RACE NIGHT in the GAA Complex on Saturday, 3rd March. Doors opening at 8.30 pm 1st Race at 9.00 pm.  Admission: Free.  All are welcome. It will be a night of entertainment and craic.

“A TIME WITH JESUS” continues in Piltown Community Centre, Monday Evenings at 8pm

Computer Classes in Piltown Community Centre:
A Beginners Computer Class supported by Kilkenny & Carlow Education and Training Board commenced in January and the course is fully subscribed to.
As a result it may be necessary to run an additional class depending on demand and anybody interested should contact the co-ordinator Noel O’Regan on 085 7063811 or at the Parish Office 051 643112.
