Parking for Church Ceremonies
The Liturgical Committee would like to ask all those who attend ceremonies in our Churches to please park responsibly and respect access points for both the Churches and the homes and businesses around the Churches. In Piltown, please use the Community Centre carpark as opposed to parking on the road near the old cemetery on the Ardclone Road. Use the lined spaces and follow the traffic direction arrows. In Templeorum, we would ask people to use the carpark if spaces are available and avoid double and treble parking outside the Church. Do not park on the bend that goes around by the Graveyard in Templeorum as this also causes access problems for emergency services and agricultural traffic. In Owning there is very limited set parking, but please try to avoid parking dangerously on the bends around the village. This again causes visibility issues which could lead to an accident.
A big thank you also to all those volunteers around the parish who help out with parking at the Churches and who help their neighbours with parking for funerals.
Time for a Spring Clean
Piltown Camogie Club will hold a fundraising used clothes collection in conjunction with Liberty Recycling who are a charitable organisation. Bags of clothes can be dropped at Piltown GAA Complex on Tuesday 2nd & Wednesday 3rd of April. Clothes, Shoes, Sheets etc. - NO duvets/pillows etc. please.
As many as 2.5 million people have been affected by the devastating cyclone and floods that have hit southern Africa. Trócaire is responding on the ground with life-saving support and the Lenten campaign will help not only the people in Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe but thousands of others facing hardship across the developing world. Your support is much appreciated.
