October and November dues; A kind reminder to anyone who has not yet done so, to please drop in their envelopes.

 EXPERIENCE THE PEACE OF JESUS THIS WEEK. Dear Jesus, I need to hear your voice above the chaos in my life. Sometimes I am faced with hard decisions and sometimes I am plagued with doubts. Teach me to trust you. I want to experience your peace. Help me to see tour peaceful attitudes, decisions and demeanour. Help me to mirror you in my own life. Memorise John 14:24: “ I leave you peace, my peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world does, so don’t let your hearts be troubled or afraid”.

Come to “A Time With Jesus” every Monday night in the Community Centre from 8 – 9 p.m.

Also we have a Parish Cell Group who meet twice a month to read and discuss scripture, pray and share our faith experiences; Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 14th of November, all are welcome to the meeting without any commitment.  Contact Marie at 086 4059662 for more information.

Memorial Time; In our churches we have a memorial tree on which you can place the names of your deceased loved ones. During this month of the Holy Souls, we will pray for all of them, that they may experience the peace of Jesus. Even if you do not attend church you are most welcome to “drop in” and include the names of your deceased relatives and friends on the tree. The annual Service of Light for the dead will held on Friday 23rd November at 8 p.m.   “We loved them in life, let us not forget them in death”.

Advent themes this year;

First Sunday (2nd December) – First Communion Enrolment (Saturday in Piltown)

Second Sunday (9th December) – Confirmation Enrolment (Saturday in Piltown)

Youth News; There’s been a positive response to our notice last week about the “Your Mind Matters” and future youth programmes.  A youth trip to Taizé in France organised by Ossory Youth will take place from Sunday 23rd to Sunday 30th June 2019. For information, contact Patrick Bookle, Ossory Youth , 056 7761200, or pbookle@ossoryyouth.com.  In order to benefit fully from these programmes and trips like this, it is important that we have our own youth group affiliated to Ossory Youth Service. Any young people interested in joining a local youth group, contact the Parish Office.

A word of thanks to Michael Whelan, Ger Power and Donal Moriarity who provide security for the cars parked at the Saturday evening Mass.

The Little Sisters of the Poor will hold  an afternoon tea dance in the Rhu Glenn Country Club on Sunday 11th November from 3 to 6 p.m. Music by Gerry Walsh. Admission €10.00 and all proceeds towards medical equipment for St. Joseph’s Nursing Home.
